All vehicle rentals in Leicester come with a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle in Leicester requires:

3. Reservations and Payments

Full payment and any applicable security deposit are expected upon collecting your vehicle. All pricing is listed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT when relevant. We process payments securely through established providers, accepting all major credit and debit cards.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition it was received, accounting only for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. Ensure that the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at the start of your rental; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may lead to extra fees, so notify us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle later than agreed. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during your rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals include a standard third-party insurance coverage. Detailed information regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to limit your financial liability, and we encourage you to review these choices thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage is purchased. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of your insurance policy.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of rental vehicle:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or any potentially dangerous actions. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Travel beyond the agreed geographical area requires prior permission.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Leicester is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Guidelines
These Terms adhere to the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved exclusively within English and Welsh courts.
10. Updates to Terms
