All vehicle rentals in Leicester are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the terms, conditions, insurance coverage, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any inconsistency between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle in Leicester, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. Renters need a valid full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by phone, or directly at our Leicester office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Final payment and a security deposit are generally collected at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT if applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, processed securely through established payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Leicester, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice given. For precise details, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Usage
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other dangerous driving practices. Transporting hazardous materials, renting the vehicle to others, or allowing unapproved drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding passenger or weight limits, and operating outside designated geographical boundaries without prior permission are also violations of our terms.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations in Leicester
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Leicester will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, that may occur from using our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount paid in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liabilities arising from negligence resulting in death or personal injury, or from fraudulent actions.
